Recent headlines suggest that Canada is destined to become a global leader in taking artificial intelligence to the next level. If you were to believe all the media hype, it would be simple to imagine AI becoming known world-wide as a distinctly Canadian export.

This optimism is not unfounded. Canada is home to many of contemporary AI’s “godfathers.”  We have — and continue to produce — the most respected and sought-after talent pool of AI experts in the world. We also have many core attributes of a thriving innovation ecosystem: a critical mass of research centres and incubators, a diverse workforce, high employee loyalty and access to capital.
