Anastasia Kaschenko (Next 36, 2018) builds a startup to harvest clean water from the air

Anastasia Kaschenko, a Mississauga resident, has a vision to bring fresh drinking water to countries in severe draughts.

The 23-year-old entrepreneur has teamed up with two other like-minded women — Beth Koigi and Clare Sewell — to make that vision a reality. The team has founded Majik Water, a startup company that harvests clean drinking water from the air.

“It is something that has been done before, but what’s novel in our approach is the technology,” said Kaschenko, who recently returned from a stint at Silicon Valley, where she took part in a tech accelerator program run by NASA.
