In this seminar, Shea will share his entrepreneurial journey in co founding Curv Labs. Curv leverages recent advances in computer vision and Deep Learning to model human movement from monocular video (mobile device) to produce a diagnostic tool for identifying movement pathologies or areas of musculoskeletal health and human performance. As a NextAI founder, Shea will also talk about the NextAI program, and how it has contributed to his success. He is accompanied by Raghavender, who is an AI Scientist in Residence with Next Canada. Raghavender will talk on how Next Canada programs support ventures from a technical perspective as well as business wise. He will also share his experience in working with different start-ups (involved in NextAI) and talk briefly about the role of education / research in the context of start-ups. * Lunch is provided. * This event is undertaken thanks in part to funding from the Canada First Research Excellence Fund.
