Braden is an entrepreneur and 3rd year student at the Richard Ivey School of Business. In high school, without technical experience, he founded Flare Software, Inc. which went on to build the cross-platform social networking app, ‘Flare’. Flare is used by thousands of students and over 250 organizations in 3 cities, with partners including some of the nation’s largest Universities and NGOs. Flare helps people and organizations promote scalable, local events in real time to a far larger audience than traditional invite-based event platforms such as Facebook or Eventbrite. At Western, Braden founded the W5 Start-up Accelerator which to date as a community has amassed over 12 million app downloads, a million plus in revenues, and member features in Forbes and Inc magazine. On the side, Braden is a varsity turned recreational athlete who now enjoys playing flag football, hockey, and volleyball. He’s eager to learn, having taught himself Python this past summer, as well as UI/UX design over the past few years. He feels rather strongly against talking about himself in 3rd person, but does so when asked.
