Margarita Quijano

Medical Sciences, Western University 2017

Margarita studied Medical Sciences at Western University and founded a non-profit organization at several Canadian and American universities in her first year. From 2013 to 2016, she led the Western chapter and expanded the non-profit organization to Harvard University, McMaster University, New York University, Queen’s University, Sheridan College, the University of Toronto, and Wilfred Laurier University. In 2016, Margarita was selected to receive the Out on Bay Street Student Leadership Scholarship, delivered the best pitch at Western University’s Pitch Competition, and won First Place at Startup Weekend Peel Powered by Google Entrepreneurs. After privately tutoring for seven years, she co-founded a tutoring and mentoring company this past summer. 

Margarita enjoys attending hackathons, talking to thousands of students across Ontario to remove discriminatory language, and playing basketball in her spare time.
