Conrad Hopp

Mineral Engineering, University of Toronto 2018

Conrad is currently a third-year student at the University of Toronto pursuing a degree in Mineral Engineering, with interest in sustainability, risk assessment and management. He is currently serving as an executive member for TechXplore, a student-run club dedicated to teaching technical skills like Java, R, and many other programs to fellow students, for the sole purpose of helping enrich their intellectual horizons.  Conrad is also a former athlete for the national team at Canoe Kayak Canada, where he had the opportunity to represent the country at the 2014 Pan American Championships and the 2015 Under 23 World Championships in which he placed sixth and tenth respectively. Having recently retired from his athletic career, Conrad is looking forward to applying his passion and energy into future ventures.

When Conrad is not immersed in schoolwork, he enjoys staying active with kayaking, cooking and learning new skills like R, which he is currently trying to extend into Machine Learning.
