Michael Warshafsky

Michael Warshafsky is a soon to be graduate of Queen’s University in biology. He is passionate about the intersection of science and technology, design, and digital innovation. In the summer of 2014, Michael obtained a product development internship at Slyce by pitching use cases for their visual recognition technology to the company’s founder. During The Next 36, Michael created an iOS app, Encore, which enables users to relive concerts through aggregated user-generated content. Michael found his love for technology while he interned at a digital agency in New York.

To discover what he was passionate about, Michael conceived of and independently setup a job shadow program with 60 professionals in 60 days. He took those experiences and blogged about them to an audience of over 10,000 visitors from more than 120 countries. His job shadow project has been featured in Forbes, The Guardian, The Globe and Mail, and The New York Times.

Michael is a freelance designer in his spare time. He creates advertising and other marketing materials for various clientele. He also plays competitive floor hockey and squash, listens to podcasts, and enjoys stargazing.
