Kira Talent

Kira Talent was co-founded in 2012 by Maxwell Brodie, Emilie Cushman, Konrad Listwan-Ciesielski and Edward Sun. Truly a disruptive technology focused on the HR Services market, Kira Talent infuses video into the recruitment process to allow organizations meet their candidates via video. Organizations can record video questions and send them to candidates who can then respond via video using their webcam. Afterwards, the selection committee can collaborate virtually to rank, share, and compare candidate responses. Kira Talent helps organizations find the hidden gems in their talent applicant pool in an easy-to-use, cloud-based platform. Kira Talent achieved a great deal of traction and venture success during the N36 program, and was recognized with the "Outstanding Venture" award on Venture Day in August 2012. Since graduating from The Next 36 program, the company has continued growing rapidly - expanding their team to 11 members, and adding several clients including Steam Whistle, Staples, Queen's School of Business and 1-800-GOT-JUNK? In December 2012, they raised seed funding from Relay Ventures, with participation from over 10 angel investors including Wind Mobile chairman Anthony Lacavera. Shortly after, Emilie Cushman was named one of the "Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada" with a Telus Future Leaders Award. Today Kira Talent is actively managed by Emilie and Konrad, and is based at Ryerson's Digital Media Zone (DMZ) Incubator in Toronto.
